@Lillymill I believe the west did not like a stronger Yugoslavia. That is why they let it bleed within. Usually you know what it means when an organ bleeds within itself. You don't know how to help it. Then you're dead.

Albania and Yugoslavia are different countries. If I say Yugoslavia, I say Tito's Yugoslavia. It was he who made it possible to have this country. Without him after world war 2 there would not have been a Yugoslavia. Yes, money can't always help people, i'm afraid.

@Lillymill O yes, Yugoslavia was very very rich. I remember when one Albanian man came from Albania in Kosova. He was calling Yugoslavia the America of Europe. Things were bad in Albania. They were poor because after Albania left Warsaw Pact they did not have any support from USSR nor from the west. I believe that no one cared about it. It was not like with Cuba where Soviets placed tactical nuclear weapons. No one made use of Albanian territories which I think was better than having does so.

Nicely put but in today's world there's a thin line between a politician and a businessman and Pacolli seems to know his way around this murky waters since he even got into CSIS if I'm not mistaken.

Anyways, as far as the Cold War's concerned, Albania didn't get money and international support and lots of people would say Yugoslavia was rich and prosperous but, hey, there's no more Yugoslavia and Albania's still there

So it's not always about the money nor a pat on the shoulder ;)

@Lillymill Money can make you what you want. Fact is that Pacolli can't even speak good Albanian. Many in Kosova don't really support him because we all know he's not good at politics. I really believe that Albania was not happy to be what it was during cold war. Fine, it was what it was but not happy. I've been many times to Albania and have spoken to many Albanians. All of them said that there was no choise but to stick with the Soviets.

I don't respect communists because they're not good.

@Lillymill Milosevic did not want to keep Yougoslavia together. You're confusing things in here. Milosevic wanted to have whole Yugoslavia do what Serbs wanted and obey only Serbia. That's not keeping Yugoslavia together, that's forcing us be slavs of Serbia. Eulex sometimes plays not fair. Vetvendosja is 100% for Albanians ONLY. Look what flag we have. One day we will change it because that's only for drying my ass. I still use the black and red flag.
