Underdog 2 Chapter 13

Seriously the weather here is crazy lol
I'm still waiting for some more comments of choices before I post some more, I'm sure you guys can do better than just three lol...believe me it's worth your while it's getting to the good part lol :P

"Do you love him Mia?" Alexis barely whispered into my shoulder after a long silence...

"I...um...once" I admitted, and it was the truth I had loved Joe, growing up I was sure of it, but now I wasn't sure. These feelings I had towards him were something but love I didn't know
"Three years is a long time..." I breathed
"A lot of things happened and a lot of things changed including myself" I whispered as she let out a sob into my shoulder
"But your back now, he has his Mia back" she sobbed and I held onto her tighter
"I don't think I'm ever going to be able to change back to his Mia completely" I explained
"But you like him don't you it might not me love but you care about him" she questioned and I stayed silent, she was correct
"no Alexis not the way you think" I lied, how would telling her the truth help in this situation, things between me and Joe were obviously not going to happen what was the point of making everything more complicated

"you've got nothing to worry about Alexis" I whispered after a while of silence her breathing becoming deep as she started to drifted off to sleep, I could feel my eyes dropping to just how long had I been up today.

I pulled out my phone and dialled a number placing it to my ear
"Mia?" Joe spoke surprised
"Are you at the hotel?" I asked softly not to wake Alexis
"Yes, where are you? have you seen Alexis? Is she with you?" he panicked into the phone and I took a deep breath
"I'm in a taxi back to the hotel, Alexis is with me" I told him and I heard him let a sigh of relief and tell someone on the other side of the phone that he had found her. I could feel the tears at the back of my throat at the adoration of his words
"Can you wait for the taxi at the doors, Alexis is asleep I don't want to wake her...and she needs you" I whispered my voice creaking at the end. I needed him to, but she needed him more and he wanted her. That's when it hit home and I couldn't hold back the tears
"Of course...Mia are you ok what's wrong?" he asked concern clear in his voice but I couldn't reply in fear that I would just fall to pieces. Instead I just closed the phone hanging up on him, we would be there in a few minutes anyway.

I tried to pull myself together, to the best of my abilities but I just wanted to curl into a ball and sleep. When we pulled up outside the hotel both Sam and Joe were waiting outside, their faces both full of concern. Joe opened the door quickly and was taken aback by the sight of me and Alexis and so did Sam. I slowly removed my arms from around her and moved my body weight and leant her against the chair softly. With that I picked up my purse, I kissed the top of her head gently
"He's here for you" I barely whispered to her before turning around making my way out the taxi. I avoided Joe's questioning eyes and met Sam's. She looked slightly taken back but mostly just worried

"Keep the change" I croaked as I handed the driver the money
"Mia are you ok?" Sam's soft voice asked. I turned back to find Alexis now in Joes arms Sam standing beside them, I looked at them all but I never met his eyes, I couldn't
"I'm fine" I lied as I started to make my way past them
"Mia?" Sam questioned again but I didn't stop
"Mia?" Joe questioned this time louder than before and I stop but I didn't turn to face them
"don't...please just for tonight let it drop" I whispered and they were both silent, I didn't wait around to see if they had given in I just left, but I knew it wouldn't end it wasn't going to be that easy, tomorrow was going to be interesting...
