OF TIME AND THE CITY is both a love song and a eulogy to the director's birthplace of Liverpool. It is also a response to memory, reflection and the experience of losing a sense of place as the skyline changes and time takes it's toll.

Terence Davies returnes to his native liverpool and to his film making roots to caputure a sense of the City today and its influences on him growning up in the late 40's and early 50's.

LIVERPOOL's phoenix-like rise is portrayed like it's never been seen before; how a city can change itself and the people under its influence...

  • I love Liverpool.

  • Mr Davies is a great film maker. Definately one of England's ( and Liverpool's ) best.

Keep on keeping on Mr Davies.

    God bless Liverpool.

  • @mandingo1 Thanks a lot mate.

  • @MrKenny1878 Liszt: Consolation No.3 in D Flat Major.

  • Anybody know the name of the song please?

  • And happily, Miss Pandora, the people of that city will be glad to see the back of you, sweeping generalisations and all - that's if you ever set foot in the place, which I doubt. .

  • @MissPandora1967 Most of what you say has truth in it but that's not the point of the film, we all know the truth about Liverpool, we've lived here all our lives, it's Davies version of his experiences which he has beautifully recanted for us through footage, and his amusing diatribe with well chosen music, that I find simply uplifting and if it doesn't strike a chord with you then it just doesn't, and that's a pity, It did with me and I'm sorry that you don't share the same affection as we do.

  • How funny Miss Pandora hates Liverpool as much as Terrence Davies doe's, shame she shows no sign of loving it as much as he doe's as well.

  • The best film I watched this year. An unforgettable, moving experience!

  • Every day i wake up and am glad i was born in Liverpool, England. x

  • this film is one of the greatest things ever

  • @spareaxe As beautiful as always.

MissPandora is clearly a bitter liar whos never set foot in the place, playing to the 20 year old stereotypes and the IQ comment gave you away, what a ridiculous statement to make. Its actually laughable infact, how can you possibly know everyone's IQ rate. Utter nonsense.
