Well, I know the background chorus was tracked...but they wouldn't track Clopin would they?

Yes. In fact there was a track ready for each principle character "just in case" (but very rarely used). The only track that was used regularly was the end of "Bells of Notre Dame" for Clopin. The performer could choose to sing it live if he wanted to, he just had to inform the sound person ahead of time.

The end of the song was usually tracked, and I'm pretty sure it was at this performance as well (sorry Sean). Glad you enjoyed it though : )
