Puttin a Sony sub to the test!

THIS SUB WAS FREE! I got this little Xplod from a friend for free. I'm just running some test tones(20-28hertz). I threw it in a box I recycled from an old 18" that no longer lives;) The enclosure is 3 cubic foot with 38square inch port tuned to around 28 hertz. A little big for the sub but the sub plays low notes like a champ. This little sony in this better designed enclosure is louder than a 12 inch Type R in one of those gay-logic enclosures. So, to anyone with a generic enclosure, build the right one for your sub. Your sub and your wallet will thank you. Anyone want to buy an Xplod? I'll sell it real cheap! Just under 200 watts going to the sub.

i did the same thing. sounds amazing for what it is and can take a good amout of power.

Aha, yes, you are right, but here in my country the price of one 12" 1200W is 150 dollars, the same as the Pioneer. And with this price i can buy 2 xplods 10", the drivers and the box installed. Becouse of this i wanted to know if the sound that they have is good.. Well thanks for asking!!

@Cchichiloo Your friend is ripping you off because hes sellin you 2 used subs for the price of 2 new subs. I like my Sony subwoofers just fine but the 1200w 12' Sony's are $70 brand new at Walmart, thats $140 for 2 if youre keeping score. Unless your friend bought them & nvr ever used them or had em out of the box he should drop the price.

my buddies first system was 2 12" xplods and they slammed, and they werent just insanely loud they actually sounded pretty fucking good

I actually got two of these for free cuz my friend was throwing em out. . .i was really surprised by how good they hit. Bass isnt earth shattering but its really clean and consistent. I think these older ones are better than the new ones.

i got 2 of these subs with a box for $20 on craigslist and for sony xplods they bump. these are WAY better than the newer ones.
