Everyone admires Lynda Carter's phenomenal portrayal of our favorite heroine, but several people may not recall Cathy Lee Crosby's brave performance in 1974. Here is my homage two both ladies' excellent jobs. Thank You!!! and a HUGE SUPPORT for the Writers!!! this dialogue is so .... juicy!

  • I can't be a fair critic. I LOVE the early Crosby version, but mostly because of nostalgia. This was a time when there were not too many film adaptations of comic book heroes appearing on TV. We took what we got.

Most rate the Crosby version very low. But I can hear the Crosby theme music, close my eyes, and I can see my Junior High School again.

  • i love the theme music!

  • Mention the name "Richard Roundtree" to her and watch her go all stone-faced. (Must have been that "coal burning" phase American cunts go through. LULZ!

  • I can't remember, but I don't think she deflects bullets with the bracelets she wears in this. I know she uses one like a grappling hook, and one somehow blows up Abner's (Montalban's) helicopter near the end. The battle between her and that PSYCHO-babe 'sister' of her's was EXCELLENT!

  • The first time I saw any version of the character was in the Cathy Lee Crosby film. Once I started watching Lynda Carter, I was a bit puzzled (since I never knew that Wonder Woman had DARK HAIR in comics) but I was instantly hooked on her righteous (but NEVER self-righteous) portrayal of the character. I never forgot Cathy, though, so it's nice to see this move once in a while, particularly on a COLOR TV. We were SO poor, back then. Who knew the mud (lava?) was in 3 different shades! HA!

  • Looks rather like she took Robin's costume and added an overly-American patriotic feel to it, as if she desperately wanted to avoid any questions about her nationality. Probably a smart move, though.

  • My Mom went to school w/ her.

  • Never thought about it but the was the 1st launch, failure and then reboot of a superhero incarnation in just a matter of a few short years. Amazing that in those days they could get a studio to do that.

  • This isn't actually that bad! The Robin Hood style costume was in keeping with the heyday of feminism, and Crosby's fine as WW. It's just that Lynda Carter IS Wonder Woman, she totally owns the role, just as the late great Chris Reeve will

always be Superman. You can't improve or challenge perfection. Or at least you shouldn't. :)

  • I remember Crosby's Wonder Woman. Very underrated.

  • She did nothing for me. Always wished for a cross-over with W.W. though. Diana'd kicked her ass too! ha!

  • how did you feel about the Bionic Woman?
