hmmm, I have been out to tibet and spoken to many tibetans. I think both the chinese and westerners do not understand the situation (i am american). Tibet is very diverse; they speak different dialects of the tibetan language and believe different versions of buddhism. Some are pro-chinese, some are not. Both the western and chinese media do not tell the real situation in the region. Maybe more people should learn tibetan and travel to the area to find out the real situation. peace!!

Reason its so publicized is because the Tibetans in question are a very vocal group, and China's military movements in the region have brought them under scrutiny. Basically, military vs. otherwise peaceful group of individuals will lead most people to side with the otherwise peaceful people.

WHy dont u ask USA to give back their land to the Red Indians then only talk....bunch of hypocrates.....fellow westerners please undersatnd that the media in ur countries are corrupting ur minds...they are jealous because they did not get the olympics..

Having to protest to spilt a province from a nation that is part of it for centuries is pointless, and a waste of time.
Can't the West and East all get along? China's conditions are improving, but it just needs time and patience to meet all the conditions. Things don't come in a snap of a finger.

The Beijing Olympics will be a great success. China will win plenty of medals. After the Olympics, those free-Tibet scums will disappear. China will continue to bring prosperity to the Tibetans in Tibet and the Chinese people. Tibet was, is, and will always be a part of China. Long Live China!

I live here in a canadian village (that's right, villages exist) and I totaly agree with banzaidwan. We have our own freaking problems. so would somebody please give the natives back some land and make this video relevant to the world

ditto. While I don't really want to be a british again, at least I support the rights of the natives of the country I share with them. I'm not going to live with drunken scotish (trust me, I'd rather die, not that I'm complaining about my heritage) but we have your own problems here.
