I've been looking up videos of this piece because I just started working on it. I have to say you have some of the best technical work I've heard on Youtube. I am slightly disappointed to see that everyone rips through this piece without stopping. I think with some variation in tempo gives the piece some variety, though maybe I've been influenced by my teacher.

You are right, still you have to remember that you are a Train. A train has lot of inertia so I think changes of tempo shoul always be gradual, especially in the middle section from the 2nd page to the 4th :)
I'll try to post another video, since now I play it without page turns (without score indeed) and with a slightly different interpretation.
