    Al, who whispered his way through the 70s, HAS tended to go "Hoo-ah" since GF3/SoaW, but the point of Heat is that the Hanna character is an obsessive, over-top Alpha Dog little different than the criminal, "whatever he's going after." His tunnel-vision, while not being sociopathic, is easily fed by the weight of the badge and civil authority. Popeye Doyle in a designer suit.

    The overacting is on pitch in this role, illustrating a larger-lifeness that easily slips into boorishness and bullying.
