East Turkestanalso known as Uyghurstan, is the part of greater Turkistan in Xinjiang, China and far eastern Central Asia. The area is largely inhabited by Turkic peoples. Famed merchant and explorer Marco Polo crossed Turkistan in the year 1272. Greater Turkistan is subdivided into West (former Soviet Union countries) and East Turkestan (administered as the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region by the People's Republic of China). The Tian Shan (Tengri Tagh) and Pamir mountain ranges form the rough division between the two Turkistans. East Turkistan (modern Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region) contains some of the great cities of Turkic culture, notably Kashgar, Hotan, Turfan, Yarkand, Ili (Ghulja), Kumul, Aqsu, Kucha and Altay.

  • We had diplomatic relations with the Republic of China during WWII (because the People's Republic of China didn't exist before 1949), but we have today relations with the People's Republic of China.

  • Over 500 million turks worldwide, Ready to die for their lands for their faith and for the fight against evil.

  • @jumshid Maybe and I hope your right but I'm no longer an optimistic about the PRC's future a major conflict is certain to happen. I'm concerned and worried for the Uyghurs and others in China. The PRC has setup so many powder kegs waiting to explode into a major conflict.

  • @2268681 Which China? The Republic of China that is currently on Taiwan or the Communist Party that formed a country in 1949?

  • @typhoonstorm95 Don't worry about Pakistan man, it has been a state with a history of 60 years and they will disappear soon. Afghanistan's Southern parts were occupied by Britain in 1890s and the occupied land was given to make a new Pakistan. I lived in Logar province Afghanistan when I was a kid, the elders around the village would talk about Uyghurs living across in the other side of the mountains and compare them to how our land was occupied. It will be independent soon I hope

  • @boyjuly76 Who cares about India. Pakistan knows better and supports China.

  • @jamie92140 I am Taiwanese and hate China. China is such a big arrogant shit country. We welcome you in Taiwan--you're better here than in China!

  • I'm not an ignorant: Croatia has guaranteed all human rights to all the peoples living there including Serbs. Unfortunately, the majority of Serbs were traitors, supported by terrorist Milošević régime. They also called that "ethnic freedom". They did the same things in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. China recognized us even in the WWII, despite we were in Axis and they Allies. Also, China modernized many cities in Xinjiang like Kashgar and Urumqi.

  • @jumshid Pakistan would stop you, sadly. Pakistanis are under the influence of China now. I guess they didn't learn their lesson from being under British rule.

  • @2268681 You are ingorant for a Croat. Your country gain independence from Serbia for ethnic freedom and so recent I guess you forgot the ethnic cleansing done by Serbia. China has done the same but says they are terrorist and execute them. If Croatia failed to secure independence your people would face descrimination for years and your freedom fighters would have been called terrorists unless your a Serb living in Croatia.
