Boycott Apartheid Israel Rally - 17th Sept Perth Protest for Palestine 1

Approximately 80 or so people got together to protest against the Apartheid Government of Israel and their abhorrent racist policies.

September 17th 2011 was the date that FOPWA (Friends of Palestine Western Australia) had their rally starting at Murray St Railway Entrance and touring through Perths stores that support Israeli apartheid.

The protest was organised by Friends of Palestine WA and targeted businesses in the CBD area that have links with Apartheid Israel or who profit from the illegal occupation of Israel.

Businesses targeted included Veolia, The Body Shop and Caterpillar. Veolia is building a light rail project to service illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank and whose subsidiary runs some bus services in Perth. The Body Shop is owned by L'Oreal which has deep and extensive business links with Israel. Caterpillar produces military bulldozers specifically designed to be used in war zones and which have killed people defending Palestinian houses from demolition. Several shops in the CBD sell Caterpillar branded merchandise.

The rally attracted a counter-protest of supporters of Apartheid Israel which demonstrates that the international BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions) campaign is having major impact. The rally called for an end to the illegal occupation of Palestine and for Israel to comply with international law.

The dozen or so Friends of Israel were seen standing around like they missed their bus and wanted us to give them a lift at the end of the rally. Poor guys look liked they needed a homeless shelter or a facelift clinic. Either one URGENTLY.




Anyways, the march was a huge success.
Starting out with a pamphlet campaign, we then marched around to THE BODY SHOP a speciality store that stocks SECRET the mineral salt that is currently causing the death of the Dead Sea. A product that is stolen from Palestinian lands and sold as MADE IN ISRAEL.

@eskolitt Many foreigners live in Egypt and Lebanon. In fact, most of my university professors are German Catholics and they are probably treated better than other Egyptians. How many Muslims or Arabs live in Israel? In fact the Palestinians are harassed in THEIR OWN country by the settlers. Physically harassed. and the Israeli forces do nothing.
