shame air New Zealand scraped the plane. New Zealand is not clean and green. we have some of the most pouted rivers in the world. some worse than the Ganges. go Air New Zealand.
This is good because you dont have to cut down trees in order to plant it. The CO2 it uses to grow the beans is probably more than what is released after burning.
did i miss this on mainstream nz tv or have none of the news programs bothered to report something so influential. too wrapped up in their rugby no doubt
Jatropha is a weed like shrub, fast growing, and can grow in arid, marginal soils that would otherwise not be used. Jatropha is good for the soil, also there are byproducts produced, Glycerin ( for soup making ) and castings/paste that is a good organic fertilizer. I cant blame Boing for being interested in Alt fuels, they didnt do too well the last spike in fuel prices, if people dont fly much, they dont sell planes.
nope, trees won't be cut. only the fruits produces the bio fuel. . it would help poor countries, especially tropical countries, jatropha plant can last until 40 - 50 years. it's one way of reforestation, . . for your info.
