rFactor2 Beta Spa F1 Rain Dance

rFactor 2 beta just came out today and I took the F1 car out for a bit of a rain test on the slippery road which just keeps getting worse as the rain continues... it gets harder and harder to control the power of the F1 car.

So fun! The spirit of GPL lives!
Already feels great for a beta, good job ISI, looking forward to seeing it as it matures.

how is the physics compared to GPL?

@pgice It has been a long time since I've driven GPL, but I think the physics and FFB are better, the tire modeling is pretty good, the tires warm up and cool off and the slides are catchable as you can see me doing various times in the video. You might want to check some GPL forums for better comparisons from people who still drive GPL.

do u need a really high level pc to get decent graphics from this game? cause atm i got 4gb ddr3 ram 1333mhz, 3.1 ghz amd athlon II dual core processor and a sapphire 1gb ddr3 graphics card, that ok or do i have to fork out more moeny for some upgrades?

@torque2802 Yeah I think the beta is not tuned for performance yet and you may be disappointed unless you have a recent top of the line computer, you may want to check the ISI forums to see if anyone with your similar specs has posted anything about performance problems, I know with my top end system I would expect the graphics to perform better in the final than it does in this current beta build.

@fetB nothing in this beta, perhaps the final version will have that in the front wheels.

@SIUL1970ABC - I don't think they used helmet visors in the 60's :-) but fair point there are no water drops on the windscreen, but I saw mentions that this is a feature that is in the works and had to be disabled for this beta build. Hopefully will be getting finished.

no way that car would do speeds like this in the wet or dry!....love the rain effect...it will be even better when rain spray effects are modelled too..looking forward to this sim...
