Thank you!!!! So glad I watched this before I butchered my roses! Does the same rule apply for shrub roses? Also, do I remove all foliage if there is some underneath my cuts?

Great video! I'm glad I looked up some info here before I chopped my rose bush terribly. It's super tall bc I don't know how to tackle it. Gotta get it under control! :)

I used to water my moms roses when a child so I knew something of roses & so does my husband: however you have helped me to learn more then I knew b4: Thanks!! We had a rose garden @ our old house & when we bought our new home, it came with a rose garden.

I just purchased my new home and is the first time i have a garden,your video is the greatest one i've seen so far, now i know how to take good care and prune my roses.

What time of the year should this type of pruning be done? Mainly in the fall or spring?

@saburkel: After the first hard frost in the winter. Or in January in milder weather.
