thats different from my tape to tape.. mine is a huge rubber band where you bounce it off of..yours doesnt look or sound like rubber?

I'm sure yours is the same. If you pass it hard enough, the puck will bounce with the rubber band off the back of the box as you hear in this video. If you don't hear the 'thud' sound you're probably not passing hard enough.
Hard passes on 'T2T' are much harder to keep straight and react to making 'T2T' the best training tool of it's kind.

He's no kid - he's over 40 and never played more than house league hockey.
