*NEW*inFAMOUS 2 Graphics analysis*NEW*

First in a series of inFAMOUS 2 videos, this one highlights various graphical improvements from the first game. Like I highlight in the video, Sucker Punch want to create a game that looks as good as Uncharted 2 but...open world. Quite a task.

What you should know is Sucker Punch are not willing to disappoint any gamers out there. The game builds heavily on the first gameplay wise, but even more so graphically, it simply is a blast to play and looks stunning as well.

As detailed in my video, inFAMOUS 2 is being built heavily around lighting effects, lights are dynamic, cast shadows and realistically blend with the surroundings in the environment.

inFAMOUS 2 uses similar technology that the Killzone franchise uses in it's 3D particle effects such as sparks, they realistically reacts to collisions with the environment. In other games such as Call of Duty sparks are simply alpha textures that fall into the ground and disappear...As we've come to recognise with Sony's 1st party developers, they don't like to settle for second best. In inFAMOUS sparks and other such particles effects are affected by physics as can be seen in the video.

inFAMOUS 2 also bumps up the texture detail, it's quite possibly the most detailed open world game out there, GTA IV is a blurry mess in comparison. inFAMOUS 2 shows you just how sharp and detailed open world games can look, even at an early stage.

the tree trunk looks extremely realistic with all that detail! when red dead redemption came out it was one of the best looking open world games out there! infamous 2 will no doubt dethrone red dead judging from the latest gameplay footage!

graphics aside, has anyone noticed that sucker punch have even improved the framerate of infamous 2? the gameplay footage runs very smooth compared to the first infamous which had framerates all over the place dipping well below 30 fps

@Inf3rnalBlade inFAMOUS 2 will look a whole lot better than Red Dead Redemption, it's pretty much a guarantee at this point, it'll also push much more detail than RDR could manage, such are the benefits of being a one platform developer, Sucker Punch can leverage the PS3 to it's best and use as much of it as required to create a stunning product.

Yes the framerate has improved, Sucker Punch are aiming for 30fps locked, unlike the first which you rightly said was fluctuating all over the place.

Well I've played the hour trial I downloaded it from Playstation network I can tell this game has a very good graphics along with a very long story because the game was 15 Gb which usally games are around 2-3 Gb But when I played the game when things explode, such as the balcony when they fall to the ground the peices immdeiatly disapear along with other exploding objects such as the car when it explods the bolts and bumpers clearly disappear, this was downloaded so idk it might be better ondisc

@rexxer86 I played the demo and the textures are better,no framerate dips,no pop in,better character models and it's even more epic than the first game.
