COMPRESSOR BLADE PROFILE MACHINE.wmv

This machine has been designed and made by myself which is semi automatic, this will be used to shape the rest of the compressor blades from stage 3 onwards. It is almost complete I just need to fit a electric motor to power the grinding wheel (not in video) This works by following a template of the blade airfoil to be shaped, the template has been made from solid steel and is six times larger than the actual blade to be ground, the reason for this is because the blade chords are getting smaller and smaller becoming impossible to shape accurately by hand, this will grind each blade exactly to the required dimensions and all blades in one row will be all identical to each other. It is fully adjustable and will traverse along the blade length. Both pattern and grinding job are both linked so they both move through the required angle together. This machine took approximately two months and a lot of hard work to make. Comment and rate.

Hi, first of all, WOW! .. just curious.. is this the same kinds of process & machines for cutting industrial grade turbine blades? Or is it something you invented?
