"Summer! Summer, wait!"
He kept yelling my name as he chased me down the hall. It all felt very dream like. I wished I could wake up in my bed like the last week never happened.
As I burst out the door I took a big gulf of fresh air and slowed down just as he grabbed my arm.
"Get away from me Derrick" I shouted as I struggled to break his hold. Unfortunately my voice broke on the last word. Tears started to flow down my face.He tried to wipe one off but I turned away.
"Let go of me, I never want to see you again" I choked out.
"Summer I can explain" he insisted "I love her."
Suddenly I was furious and with out holding a single thought back I exploded.
"You love her? Just like you loved me last week? Just like youll love someone else in a couple of days? You dont even know what that word means. Stay out of my life, youve already done enough damage."
Anger and confusion flashed on his face "We both knew this was just a one month thing, you said so yourself. What makes today any different than the day we first met?"
If only he knew. Maybe for him it was just a casual fling but for me it wasn't. My life had changed and I have no way back. As I choked back the tears streaming down my face I tried to say the hardest two words in the world.
"I'm pregnant" I whispered.
