The Japanese version of this scene.

Ariel's voice was done by Mayumi Suzuki here. Her voice is so lovely and cute,
fits perfectly to this character, I love this dubbing.
Koichi Yamadera as Sebastian.

It's new re-dubbed version from 1997/1998.

From リトル・マーメイド (Ritoru Māmedo).

  • Flounder's growl made me giggle. He is too cute. x3

  • @KoizumiMN i don't know if you're still interested but she says, 「私はもう16よ。子供じゃないわ。」

  • is this right? 1:07 - watashi wa mo jyu roku yoku do junai wa? (私は も 六 よく 純愛 倭)

  • Flounder's Japanese voice is so adorable :3

  • I'd like to know the little girl's in the audience reactions to this scene. Were they surprised that she talked back to her father so fiercely?

    I said "anime" because this isn't an anime movie. And anime isn't that serious?

    "FUURAAANDAA" isn't the proper way of pronouncing Flounder, and neither is "SUKAATAARU" for Scuttle.

    I said I've seen other languages do it, and I didn't say I've seen all of them. And I was talking about Disney movies in general. >__>;;

    Maybe you meant "western" as in germany and not US dubs, but I liked how Sailor Moon was in the German dub. =O

  • @tygerchickchibi No, they really don't. Here in Germany the voice actors are so terrible compared to other countries. They just don't put emotions into the lines. And why should I put Anime out of my mind? You just havn't seen the terrible things Ive seen. What some countries do with anime is so cruel. They don't even learn how to pronounce the names right, they change the words and the voices are amateurs because the producers want to save money. They don't give their best, really.

    I don't personally think so. That's sucking up waaaaayyy too much.

    All voice actors put their best in these movies no matter what language they're in. The original is what I was introduced to and I'll like it the most. However...I've really liked other languages interpreting the characters in their own way.

    Put anime out of your mind for a moment...geeze.

  • @lovelysushibear I've compared their singing. They don't sound a like. Take a listen to the beginning of Part Of Your Word Reprise of both versions and hear for yourself.
