eş-Şâfiî ve Malik b. Enes'e göre namazı kasten terk eden kimse kafir olmaz, ama öldürülür.

Mâlik b. Enes de, "Kim Allah'a inanır, peygamberleri tasdik eder ve namaz kılmazsa öldürülür," ifadesiyle, eş-Şâfiî ile aynı görüşe sahip olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.

Ahmed b. Hanbel, namaz kılmamakta direnen kimseyi öldürmeden önce üç gün hapsetmeyi vâcip görürken, eş-Şâfiî bunun iyi bir şey olduğunu, ama şart olmadığını söylemektedir.

prayer: o my lord! our prophet says, that the prayers are the pillars of the religion, the ascent to heaven of a mumin, the light of my eyes and the key of the paradise. its because of that it makes us to servants and makes us raise up to you. im also going to the mosque. im praying in your presence. o my lord! while praying, i feel at ease as if im back home from a long trip. o my lord! let us love the light of our eyes more. let us enter paradise with this key. let us be in ur presence.
