War Witness: Youngest POW in Soviet Camp

http://victory1945.rt.com RT presents War Witness - a special project dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Second World War. Veterans share their experiences of the war - from how it began to how it ended. Alphonse Hueber is a Frenchman from Alsace, a French province annexed by Germany in 1940. He was forcibly drafted into the German army. People like him were labelled 'malgré-nous', which means 'in spite of our will'. After escaping from the German army over to the Soviets, Alphonse was sent to a Russian PoW camp with a promise of repatriation. The promise was never kept and he had to remain in the camp till the end of the war.

@amerikaner101 Every belligerent in the war had its proud moments as well as some not proud moments. It happens, it is absolutely NOT a good reason to bias oneself against another country over something that happened in the past, that doesn't reflect the people in the country. That is one of the best parts of RT's videos...they show things as they were, not to make Russia look like the angels of the war.

And i am thankfull to my grandfather and his generation wich fought against the russians to let us keep our independence instead of becoming another occupied soviet eastern country.
