A beautiful song from the second Prince of Egypt movie, I often listened to this when I couldn't understand things that were going on, and wondered if there was something beyond everything I was doing. I orchestrated this song for piano, strings, and percussion, and the vocals were provided by my family and myself.

A lot of terrible things happened in 2011 - the Tohoku tsunami, floods in Thailand and the Philippines, mudslides in Rio de Janeiro to name a few. At times like this, we often wonder why awful things like these happen, especially to innocent people. And it's times like this where faith is often the hardest to find, but in the end, becomes one of the most precious things we have. With this song, we hope for a brighter 2012, and pray for the strength to see the new year through, come what may.

We wish you all a very happy new year, and our prayers are with all those for whom 2011 was difficult or painful, for both the strength to bear it now and the hope to carry them forward into 2012.

  • Bobby Michaels played it... but I'm not sure if he was the one who sang on Prince of Egypt. Like the song!

    great work!!!

  • Great job by all!

  • lol when i first read the description, i didn't see the word "second", so i just went on a wild goose chase looking for Prince of Egypt Better Than I, and then i found out it's not Prince of Egypt, it's Joseph: King of Dreams, and was like *facepalm, and I was about to correct you about your description, but then i noticed the word "second", which led to another facepalm... but yea, there's a lil youtube adventure for ya ^_^
