@finbarboyle Yeah, the Sioux objected to the white man taking their land. How annoying for Custer! They wiped out Custer's command, but Phil Sheridan brought along a whole bunch more soldiers and guns to bring freedom and democracy to what was once the great Sioux nation. Sounds familiar, right?
I love Jimmy Driftwood, and a soldier who was related to my cousin got the Congressional Medal of Honour from that battle (Tom Callan, Knockbridge, County Louth, Ireland. But can somebody illuminate me? Was there something inherently objectionable about the Sioux? Were they they doing something that the Irish hadn't had to do?
