Bigger budget etc doesnt mean "instant win" as history has proven many times over. Look at the Taliban,they dont have a budget and are taking on the world and suceeding. look at the Falklands War 229 Argentinian Jet fighters against Britains 39,but Britain smacked thier bums. History proves you wrong time and time again...

As for the Axis the Axis had already lost in Europe before the US enterd. The war in Europe was pretty much over at that point.

@athleticguyUK After U.S. entry into WW2, it was a matter of time before the Axis lost. It's a tribute to the Wehrmacht and the Imperial Japanese Army that it lasted so long. So I don't really consider it to have been close. Certainly it is the mother of all wars to have taken place so far. But had the U.S. and the british empire butted horns, that would have been a very very close war. Please don't get me started on experts. If you let me pick the experts, I can deliver any conclusion you want

Had the American's gone through with this, it would have been the mother of all wars. America would still have won though. India was seething under British rule. Had the yanks got a foothold in india, they could have issued a call for volunteers against the british savages. Every indian family would have sent one male to fight. I know mine would. The Brits would have been tougher foes than Nazi Germany or the imperial Japanese. But with Indian help, the Americans would win.

It was America that used to FUND the I.R.A terrorists to blow up British citerzens,nail bombs going off in busy streets,a pregnant womans tummy slashed open & her unborn baby spilled out on to the street while she could only watch. Then America ( a country that funded terror for years) gets attacked by terrorists on 9/11 then declares war on terror!!
