Here we look at building a multitouch setup using an infrared light source to light up fingers/objects placed on the surface and a camera to track the blobs.

  • Thanks for the video.

Can you just use an lcd monitor or tv instead of the projector?

  • @hotelspaz Yes but you have to take the TV apart then though. If you want to use a TV then you're better off using an Infrared Touch Frame. See our store for pricing.

  • Why is it my table does not detect movement? :(

  • @scamslat Please post on the NUI Group forum with specific build questions

  • What kind of IR sensor you use ? Can you give me on exemple, a name, please? Thank you!

  • @dogg06 The "IR sensor" in these setups are essentially the cameras tracking the IR light blobs.

  • @dogg06 Yes you can but the software to determine where the object is between the diode and receiver would take awhile to figure out. We sell Infrared Touch Frames that are ready to use frames using this type of detection (no camera). See our online store for pricing and sizes.

  • @PeauProductions I can use IR LED and IR Photodiode ?

  • @0X1D1Z3D There are many setups shown in this video, but the acrylic in most of them was about 6mm thick. The larger the setup the thicker you need to go.

  • how thick is the acrylic?
