The battle of Hydaspes River ( Alexander , 2005 (c) )
opposes Alexander the Great at the râja Pûru or Pôros, in 326 BC. AD
The battle begins Alexander tries once again its strategy of the well served in previous battles : cut the enemy lines and launching his cavalry in the gap but today he faces at a knotty problem . The war elephants . In fact the Macedonian horses are very nervous. Alexander is forced to change its stratégie. So he charge on the left flank of the Indians.
Pûru strengthens but leaves the open field to the Macedonian cavalry who had been sent to circumvent the Indian army
The fight is very tough :The Macedonian phalanx ,Persian infantry have stopped the infantry and Indian elephants, but at the price of heavy losses,
Pûru, who was wounded in the battle, surrender
