  • Where was the lie????? obviously you're idea of a lie is mixed up.

  • @jeremeyshicks Bitch... are you for real? He opens up by saying Republicans didn't want regulation on housing and then it cuts to the Republican's trying to get regulation on housing markets, namely Fannie and Freddy. Who is blocking the Republicans? Democrats.

This was McCains's regulatory bill also.

  • @TheRudeNews - first off I'd love to see you call me a Bitch outside these pixels and second Quote his words put them in print and read them! He says rebpublicans and Bush look the other way, then says they have "avoided" any kind of a regulatory! First they look the other way, then avoided, hmmm kinda mean the same do they not BITCH!

  • @jeremeyshicks Yeah, you are a bitch outside of these pixels.

Now that your done holding your father for a good cry, you are obviously too stupid to follow the video above.

So just give up and watch some MSNBC so they can tell you our opinion.

  • The way Armando Falcone was treated in the hearings shown here was outrageous and disgusting. It is time to make the Congressional black caucus an illegal entitiy within the H of R.

  • Correction from the last post, it was not 1998 to 2008, it was 1989 to 2008.

  • In fact, from open secrets.org: John Boehner recieved $67,750 from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from 1998 to 2008, and in that same time period, Mitch Mcconnell recieved $41,000 and Eric Cantor received $48,500.

  • One more thing: Of the Republicans depicted in this video for regulating Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac: Ed Royce recieved $28,000 in contributions from them, Don Manzullo only recieved $250 but many Republicans including John Boehner, Eric Cantor, and Mitch Mcconnell recieved much more.

  • BTW, what caused this mess wasn't just easy lending to minorities and the poor, it was because of predatory lenders selling mortgages to people that had adjustable interest rates that reset to much higher interest rates in the near future, making the monthly payment balloon. In turn, banks that issued these mortgages packaged them into CDOs: securities backed by mortgage debt, and sold them to investors around the world (with faulty AAA ratings), and thus made a lot of people to hold the bag.

  • Both Democrats and Republicans have been bought off by the powerful, though I would say that the Republicans initially got more funding from corporate america (well, they've always been the business party) and Democrats only followed to compete with the Republicans. The original Democratic Leadership Council is what corrupted the Democratic Party with corporate money because it was led by the equivalent of moderate republicans. Many Democrats aren't left wingers after all.

  • @TheRudeNews Republicans are notoriously antiregulation so whatever regulation would come out of this would be paltry, and I think this is perhaps more of an intent for Republicans to cover their ass given that they sponsored the Commodity Futures Modernization Act (that allowed for the explosive derivatives market to get out of control) and the Gramm Leach Bliley Act (which broke the division between investment and commercial banks),both leading to the subprime meltdown and derivatives scare.

  • Reich is just a fanatic liberal wacko. He bends and distorts the truth to suit his agenda. He's not at all trustworthy.

  • Your inter-cut clips mean nothing in the context of Reich's remarks. The housing crisis happened because of a loosening of REGULATIONS that allowed banks to create risky ways to make money by bundling loans, credit default swaps, etc, and because they no longer had to keep as much cash on hand (capitalization) as they once did. Reich speaks the truth.

  • @welcome2myhell You name somebody better
