Uploaded here is the original cover song of Kenny Loggins's "Danger Zone" from the original broadcast run of "Captain N - The Game Master". The song is heard in Episode 5 "Mega Trouble For Megaland". This Episode's Synopsis: After surviving Mother Brain's trap in the last episode, our heroes (The N Team) discover that Mother Brain has ruled over Videoland for a week and decide to split up in two groups. Kid Icarus & Simon Belmont go to Medusa's lair to retreive the 3 Power Items needed to destroy the 3 Sacred Treasures while Kevin, Lana, Duke & Megaman head to Megaland (Megaman's home world) to defeat Dr. Wily, who has the 3 treasures. As they finish getting through Cutsman level, Kevin & the others prepare to go through a boss rush of Wily's androids.
This video was made just to show fans of the cartoon young & old the way it was meant to be seen since this song and all other cover songs are not found on the DVD set. Special thanks goes to Tuxedomark for keeping these missing songs in his archives (visit his page for more). Please comment and tell me what you think.

  • how come Danger Zone wasn't used in the "Big Trouble for Megaland" episode on the special DVD collection?

  • @rickythekid According to Wikipedia, the songs were replaced with an instrumental tune (part of which you heard first before Danger Zone) in syndication after the initial broadcast. Fellow member Tuxedomark adds that Brian Ward, producer of the DVD set, said the series would have "similar-sounding music" in place of the cover songs. As it turns out, this is anything but true. Worse still, the Super Mario cartoon suffered the same fate in its DVD release.

  • @1tonyvalle that's too bad. the cover songs sounded cool... at least most of them did. i've always wondered if they violated any copyright laws when they used them, which lead to them replacing the cover songs with instrumentals.

  • @rickythekid I believe copyright infringement wasn't the actual reason: Rather, the show's producers went with the instrumentals to avoid having to pay royalties on the cover songs after the initial broadcast.

  • Blast this song while I fight Air Man!

  • i thought this was awesome when i was a kid

  • I love this cartoon. I used to watch it all the time on syndication and on Saturday mornings on NBC, back in 1989-91. Notice that the bark from Kevin's dog, is the same bark used in the Ruby Spears Mega Man series for Rush.

  • which episode does Pit (or icarus im not even sure) join them in? Srry bout the in convenience

  • Cool!

  • @MDthornton83 I think this show had a lot of 80s songs put into it, but then were later cancel out, like when Super Mario Bros. had that rockband that later turn out to lipsync their songs. The other one involved them going to Castelvina and playing Thriller, another video done by this guy.
