Been talking about this for a LONG time, I was finally able to pull this deadlift after my last one barely left the ground. I changed my technique with 2 weeks of heavy deficit training and then one week of scotch and cigars for rest.

This lift itself was pretty slow and drawn out. It's no where near perfect and probably won't pass in competition, but it gives me the confidence and the drive to make it easier and smoother next time. I'm currently sitting at about 150-154 depending on water weight.

Time to put the deadlift on the "backburner" and focus on the 405 squat now.

  • Dracoy you really have defied the odds and i know you're 100% natural too. Proud of you kid!!~Drakoy

  • @rak000 Haha thanks. My progress has obviously slowed with > year of training from 475 to 495. My physique has stayed much the same. Being natty is about slow consistent effort. It's about having fun :)

  • shaky shaky shaky... But strong as fuck ! How old are you?

  • HNNNGGGGGGG

  • strong as fuck, subscribed. amazing lift bro really happy for you

  • Good lift. I'm the opposite, my squat is much better than my deadlift. But I only deadlift 1-2 times a month, because I squat more often. I pull sumo like you do because my squat stance is a bit wider, so it feels more natural to me. Good lift, hope to see that 405 squat soon.

  • ...this is damn sexy.

  • Nice work bro, I'm at 365 @ 164. Some day I will get to beastmode. Azn BB.com FTW.

Out of the population of individuals training the deadlift seriously I think the statistics are somewhat less favorable; in competition at most weight classes, 495 is nothing to gawk at. That's all that I'm saying. As far as Norberg, as far as I know, he only did manual labor, grip and muscle-out feats, and bench presses.

Fair enough though. Have a good day.
