Scratch built wooden boat

Almost finished, Need to make a few deck fittings and finish the cockpit. Hull is water tight. Then a sea trial. I switched the motor back to a como drill motor after trying a Graupner, easier on the cheap battery packs, but still gives 19,000rpm, geared it gives 10k (dry). I 'borrowed' the motor from my first boat. Just got to drop it in the canal now and give it a run.

OK, I am officially excited! When are we getting this thing wet??? I am dying to see how she runs, I think you built a hell of a boat this time round Andy, eclipsing your previous build. What is the amp rating on your speed control, your gonna drawing some juice with this new set-up... Watch her for heat...

Done it... Cheers for the prompt, about time it got wet. Got it on the canal and it ran like a dream, Speed (although not quite a missile). Took a tumble though, not sure what the prob is. A bit more tweaking needed.

very impressive especially for a handbuilt one off design. Your universal joint seems a bit on a too sharp of angle but the boat planes very very well especially with that prop angle. you Might want to try trim tabs and a shallower prop angle with a grupner or Traxx U Joint.  Really nice job.
