My final attempt at A Passion Play concert film.

(Unless a wealth of footage is someday discovered)

This July will already be 4 years since I uploaded my

1st Passion Play film. This was before Youtube could

handle high quality video and I was using software

that allowed only one track of video editing. Even

with those limitations the response I have had from

that film was shocking to me. I literally have

hundreds of e-mails and they're still coming. (this is

also when youtube allowed you to search and find the

videos you were looking for)

This mystical concert had an even greater impact on

those who saw it than I had thought, and those who

weren't there were able to imagine what it might have

been like.

This update to my Passion Play film is much improved.

Both quality and sound sync. More of my original

intent.

Mainly film from Oakland 1973 and Madison Sqare

Garden. This is the best version of Oakland 73 I have

found. The sound for the entire film is also Oakland.

This film has always had actual sound but has also

always been out of sync so I finnaly fixed the audio

sync on this. I also did some color correction and

reduced the screen size in an attempt to acheive the

best quality I could from it. I just couldn't get that

with fullscreen. It would, at times look crummy.

I want to thank everyone who has helped me along the

way I considered part of the tulltapes team including

Electrocutas Pete, Davy Hall, Tullpress,

bootlegstullianos, Ministry of Information, All my

family and friends from the Tull heyday, PaulHartxyz,

& underwwraps2 (who has his own nice collection of

Passion Play videos) and everyone I forgot.

A very special Thanks to my friend Chris Crump
who was actually part of the travelling Passion Play

circus. Controlling the lasers during Ian's flute

solo, Juggling on stage during Martin's guitar solo,
or playing Sunshine of your Love on the drums as Ian

looked on before Tull's soundcheck. It was one of the

most memorable experiences of his life and I thank him

for sharing some of those great stories with me and

moments with us. His excellent photos shown in this

film were taken from the front row in Los Angeles..

  • Is it just my imagination, or is it THIS Tull concert that inspires more passionate inquiry than any other Tull concert? Anyone?

(PS love the jam out in Best Friends)

  • There is so much more "passion" in the live performances compared to the studio release.

  • I bothers me, all this time later, that Anderson let the critics get to him. He was always a bit defensive, in a certain sense - hiding behind an attitude of "it's all a joke, if you don't get it, the joke's on you!" - and the sudden turn of the critics on the darlings who had made Thick as a Brick seemed to pin his ears back. But A Passion Play was an amazing, exciting piece of music.

  • God Bless the fans for this stuff. Otherwise we probably would not see it

  • Jethro Tull's '' A Passion Play' ' live is pretty good quality for the times. Ian is still the best performer of All!

  • Thank you very much - it's also a great job on video editing

  • I was at the Concert in N.Y. in 1973.....My best concert memory ever.

    What a fantastic concert.

  • brilliant. interesting to see a soprano sax in rock and roll.

  • Fab

  • I received a compilation of all of the footage years ago, and it also includes the silent backstage footage, and TAAB tour footage also...if anyone is interested in trading, please e-mail me...thanks for all the great Tull !!
