Hesston held an early steam up weekend for the Friends of the Cumbres and Toltec as well as members of their facebook group. This weekend was also #242's first public run.

  • I don't know all their names yet, but i know ted was on the 2-4-2 for awhile (in face he was engineer in part 2 when it stalled on Michigan curve). I'm going back memorial day and I'm hoping to get some great video. The 242 will be out as long as it doesn't rain. Ill be sure to come to the civil war days this year, haven't gone the past 2.

  • Looks like Greg on the shay and Steve on the 242. Is that Ted or Brian, also on 242. I don't see how I will get over to Hesston until the civil war trains Can't wait to get 242 in that. If you get time, look me up. I'll be recording for Brian and CW guys

    love the whistle. sounds like the little 2ft engines in the UK.

    and i just keep watching it think wow thats the 242 , chuffing, whistling, and alive!

  • Yes, 3 ft.. The other engine is the 242 from the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago.
