Once you get into this type of stuff, you really understand gaming a whole lot more.

When I first started doing things like this

I accidentally gave Mario a spiked afro thing, and made his nose so long that it interupted my gameplay.

Anyways, soon there will be an actual tool that edits only the image of an object and the collision data of the object. For example, remodel mario into, ohh lets say, a bob-omb. The collision data would be pretty much round.

    Can't wait for it!

  • Yes, really!

Lots of hex strings to edit though.

    You will need to:

-find Mario's hex data (more than 20 hex strings)

-assign him the vanish cap (extend to full invisible)

-edit Mario's collision data to meet super power standards (i.e. walk through an enemy and/or wall)

-assign the super power a button (commonly people use "L" button)

    And Voila!

    Mario now has super powers!

Note: It may seem quick and simple, but it's actually a lot of work (may take about a month or two).

  • Yes. Really.

Trust me, alot of hex strings would need to be changed. You first would have to find Mario's hex addresses (theres like more than 20). Then you would need to find the hex for vanish cap but extend it to make Mario fully invisible. Then you would need to work out the collision data (i.e. when using the super power, allow Mario to go through enemies and/or through walls (involves more hex work)). After your happy with it, assign it a button (commonly "L" button (more hex work).

  • oof***!!! really??

    crap.

  • Wiat a sec!

This CAN be done in the actual game.

It would require alot of ROM editing.
