This was 1999. I forgot all about this commercial until the other night I was at a comedy show and the comedian said the audience (a mix of black and whites) looked like and old navy commercial. He started singing this song and then I remembered the commercial for it. He caled it an old navy commercial, but it was a gap commercial. I feel so old, thought this came out at least in the 2000's, not the 90's. I wonder if this was early 1999 or late '99.

lol the song mellow yellow is about a guy that has cirrhosis of the liver from drinking too much. He also beats his wife and does horrible things. Cirrhosis leads to jaundice, a yellowing condition of the skin.
