If Cranberry Township would be lucky enough to win this contest, the equipment would be used to help plant staff monitor ammonia and phosphorus levels throughout the treatment process. This will allow them to make better process control decisions and to generate data that would be useful in designing for the next plant expansion, which is expected to include a total nitrogen limit.
