very interesting that you didn't find the book theif as fulfilling. Did the audiobook actually read the exact story? The Book Theif is actually one of my favourite books, not only because its told from the perspective of death but because of the amazing descriptions of the sky. I'm not sure if you would lke it but I loved The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy , also have you watched The Lives Of Others? Das Leben der Anderen. I love this channel btw.

The reason the book doesn't discuss germanys history is becaused it isn't a book for you to learn about WWII it is a fiction book for entertainment puproses only so enjoy the book and let it go!!!!!! it is a great story and you probably thought "oh its a young adult book so itss an easy quick read" and then you just skimmed throught and didnt apreceate the unique and amazing narration. the book theif is amazing you ignorant fool.

I thought the Book Thief was interesting mainly because of the narration; it was done by Death and there were those cool announcement things every so often. Thanks for sharing your opinion and I hope you've found a page-turner by now :) By the way, I recommend A Northern Light, it's historical American fiction. It doesn't tell that much about the era, but its still good. It's about a girl who's saddled with family responsibilities & traditions, but tries to break free.

@TheThirdShift Starkeymann is correct - she pronounces her name to rhyme with stone. Go to itunes and find the podcast series (free) called The Diana Gabaldon Podcast, where she talks about different facets of her books and writing, etc.. In each episode, she introduces herself, so we hear her pronunciation of her own name.

Can you please make the video about the non fiction world war books you were talking about earlier in the video?

I was watching your most recent LitChat and I then I watched the one before that and the one before that and the one before that...... I now have a sizeable list of books and plans to make a trip to the library tomorrow! I may not get to finish watching all the ones I want to because I now have a very strong urge to grab one of the books I havnt read yet and take a hot bath!
Have you read anything by Phippa Gregory. Those ae about England's monarchy. The other Boleyn Girw was good. I am almost done with the Boyeln Inheritance and I have the Red Queen next.

The Book Thief isn't meant to enlighten people people about the war or the atrocities that took place. What makes it interesting is the fact that it's told from the perspective of Death. It 's interesting to reath through it and figure out why Death is so drawn to Leisel. Many fiction books focus on how the Jewish people suffered, but not many offer a perspective from the lives of the Germans, especially those who put themselves at risk to help others survive.
