Forcing a confrontation with Iran, using Israel, in my opinion won't work. At least not in this coming year and anytime after that, it will be too late, Iran will (if they don't already) have short and long range nukes. Nothing puts off war like a nuke. Russia is playing the peace keeper, to give Iran that time. America is going to loose this fight in the end, waste a lot of money and treasure, all for nothing.

Your eye on the middle east is exactly where it needs to be. If you take a look at the map, you can clearly see where the prize is and who wants it. The Caspian Sea and it's oil. We tried to go in through Georgia under Bush, that didn't work because Russia kicked up it's heals. So given the area, the only way to get there from here, is to invade Iran with Israels help. Iran knows this, so they prepare with allies in the region.
