  • About your tree: have you thought about burying it during the winter? (Really) I have a neighbor who buries his fig tree during winter and digs it up after the thaw. He says it's the only way to have figs in the fall. (I'm assuming Polish winters are cold.)

By the way, the man appeared in a CDN film on Italian-Canadians made in 2002. (The National Film Board of Canada has uploaded its films for free viewing -- really!-- at its website.)

  • It's amusing that in portuguese one has a unique words for "olive tree" (oliveira), "olive oil" (azeite) and "olive fruit" (azeitona).

    How is it in polish?

  • CORNER OFFICE!!!???....C O R N E R O F F I C E!!!! My apartment isn't even a corner apartment...well...it's sticks a little bit out of the facade ...but not actually a corner apartment.

She said 2 or 3 year old trees would produce olives....or did she say one or two years. I watched a tv program(me) the other day...and there someone said the tree would have to be much older before it produces olives.....could check out it of course on wiki...but I just want to type in ignorance for fun.
