SPSS is expensive and full of nag screens. Being that I use Linux and am an open source advocate, I searched and found this alternative for my classes. While my school may have SPSS in the lab, I really don't want to work in the lab for various reasons. After demonstrating this app to my professor, it seems there is a chance my school may switch to using it anyway. Take a look and give it a try! Find more Linux related stuff on my site at http://www.mattparnell.com

  • I can't follow your tutorial... Once I click on file<new<syntax the first time, if you DON'T have it already saved.... do you click File<new<syntax again? or File<Open<Syntax? Or do you just start writing from that page. When I click on Open<Syntax I don't get the window you do in 2:56

  • @Succubusisis It's likely that they've changed menu structure since I made this video. I'm not any longer using this software, because I graduated from college.

  • I am doing research using SPSS but looking for alternatives. Is it really that easy to use PSPP? Do you have the e-mail a address to the developer?
