Just one step at a time
And closer to destiny
I knew at a glance
There'd always be a chance for me
With someone I could live for
Nowhere I would rather be

Is your love strong enough
Like a rock in the sea
Am I asking too much
Is your love strong enough?

Just one beat of your heart
And stranger than fantasy
I knew from the start
It had to be the place for me
Someone that I would die for
There's no way I could ever leave

Is your love strong enough
Like a rock in the sea
Am I asking too much
Is your love strong enough?

Is your love strong enough?
Just one beat of your heart
Is your love strong enough?
Is your love strong enough?
Is your love strong enough?
Is your love strong enough?
Is your love strong enough?

Just one beat of your heart
Strong enough?
Strong enough?
Just one beat of your heart
Strong enough?
Strong enough?
Just one beat of your heart
Strong enough?
Strong enough?
Just one beat of your heart
Strong enough?
Strong enough?
Just one beat of your heart
Strong enough?
Strong enough?
Just one beat of your heart

"Is Your Love Strong Enough" was first released in 1985 on the soundtrack to Ridley Scott's motion picture, Legend. The track used in the end credits of the film and the album soundtrack was the shorter 4:42 version, this video incorporates the longer 7:06 extended version that was released after the film's theatrical run....one of my very favorite songs of all time.

The song features, of course, Bryan Ferry's always perfect vocals, and also features fantastic guitar work by David Gilmour (of Pink Floyd fame) and bass by Guy Pratt. The song was a former out-take of the recording sessions for Avalon, the eighth and last Roxy Music album.

As a huge fan of Ridley Scott first three films (The Duelists, Alien, and Blade Runner), it was very exciting to hear in the mid-80's that he was directing a fantasy for his fourth effort. I saw the picture opening day and loved everything about it....especially the two songs used in the closing credits, which both combined involved the talents of four artists that had long been among my very favorites....Bryan Ferry, Jon Anderson, David Gilmour and Tangerine Dream.

A few years after the films was released I was very excited to stumble across the 12" vinyl that included the extended mix which was approximately two minutes longer. After listening to it, it immediately became my preferred version....just really cements that "is your love strong enough" groove!

As far as the video, when I originally became interested in trying to make some videos for some of my very favorite songs, the first three songs I created folders for and moved the mp3s into to start working with were Bryan Ferry's "Is Your Love Strong Enough", David Gilmour's cover of "There's No Way Out Of Here" and Eno's "St. Elmos Fire (actually the very first song I started making a video for, it's still not done!)....this is the first one of the three yet finished. And although, since the very beginning, I always had basically the same concept for the video (colorful fish, a cool girl or two..and Roxy Music album covers...yeah, I know it's not Roxy Music!) and had worked on the video numerous times in the last 18 months and had always intended to finish it, it wasn't until I recently saw Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and heard the song again used (though not Ferry's version) in the end credits that I just dug in and pushed it through. It was another of those videos where I ended up with far too many effects and though others were really cool (at least I though they were) I had to lose them.....too bad the tune isn't about an additional 2 minutes longer!

Anyway, of course there already exists a very nice vid for the shorter version and were it not for wanting to get something behind the longer version, I doubt it would exist as I rarely (once!) make a video when there is already an official one available.

Anyway...99 or so videos later it's done, kinda cool that it is my 100th video since it was one of the first I started.....I hope you enjoy the effort for this amazing song!
