Animated with Bryce. My MIDI program tells me on which frame a sound occurs. In Bryce I set the strike on the correct frame, back up a few frames to set up the swing and then cut and paste along the timeline as called for. A spread sheet also helps me keep track of what happens when.
This is very simple and I urge you to give it a shot using any 3D animation program (primitive shapes are fine) and MIDI program the provides time and frame count and a spread sheet app. Enjoy!
