Julia Bacha is Media Director at Just Vision (justvision.org). She is an award-winning filmmaker who has worked on films exhibited at the Sundance, Berlin, Jerusalem, and Dubai International Film Festivals, and broadcast on the BBC, HBO, Sundance, CBC and Al Arabiya television channels. Originally from Brazil of Lebanese descent, Julia directed and produced Budrus (2009) and wrote and co-directed the feature documentary Encounter Point (2006). Julia also co-wrote and edited Jehane Noujaim's critically acclaimed documentary, Control Room (2004), for which she was nominated to the Writer's Guild of America Award. Winner of the 2010 King Hussein Leadership Prize, 2010 Search for Common Ground Award, and 2011 Ridenhour Film prize, Julia's work has been featured on the Charlie Rose Show, Newsweek, The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Economist.

حازت المخرجة السينمائية جوليا باشا على عدة جوائز عالمية وقد عملت على عدد من الأفلام الوثائقية التي تم عرضها في مهرجانات السينما الدولية في برلين والقدس ودبي و غيرها، هذا بالإضافة الى بثها على القنوات التلفيزيونية العالمية منها العربية و البي بي سي. قامت باشا، وهي برازيلية من أصول لبنانية، بإخراج وإنتاج الفيلم الوثائقي "بدرس" (2009) كما أنها كتبت وساهمت في إخراج الوثائقي البارز "نقطة إحتكاك" (2006). وقد شاركت أيضاً في كتابة وتحرير وثاثقي جيهان نجيم "غرفة التحكم" (2006) الذي استقطب اهتماماً واسعاً من قبل النقاد والذي أدى إلى ترشيحها لنيل جائزة الغيلد الأميركية التي غالباً ما تمنح للكتاب المتميزين. حازت باشا على جائزة الملك حسين للزعامة عن سنة 2010 وجائزة البحث عن أرضية مشتركة عن العام عينه كما نالت جائزة ريدنهور للأفلام لعام 2011. وقد برزت أعمال المخرجة باشا في برنامج أميركي شهير ومجلتي نيوزويك الإيكونوميست بالإضافة الى صحيفتي النيويورك تايمز والواشنطن بوست.

In BR, even right-wing outlets - eg, Globo, Estadão - cover the Israeli-Arab issue in a much more factual manner than US journals do. Nobody in here tries to explain away Israeli crimes as deserved by Palestinians - like, for example, the NYT and the Washington Post (two so-called left-liberal papers!) do regarding each Israeli military action in Arab territory. AFAIK, European outlets are also relatively free of bias. Only in the US do journals spin reality in Israel's favour.

its very honourable that the girl jumped in front of the bulldozer. but please don´t anybody try it. an american activist (Rachel Corrie) has been killed by exactly that on the 16 of March 2003. she tried to stop the demolition of a house and got run over by the bulldozer. according to the israeli military she could not be seen by the soldier, allthough wearing a bright neo-orange jacket...
