This is the cable picture we've had since Comcast accessed the utility pole in our yard last month. It's sporadic. After much frustration of trying to watch a show like this, we contacted Comcast for service several times, checked out exterior connections, checked our interior connections. No resolution.

I called last night to set up a service call for a two-hour window the next day, 10am-noon.

The next day came and I waited 10am to noon for a service call. At 12:30 tech called saying he was busy. At 2pm, husband called to ask me to run his medicine to him. I called Comcast to ask how much longer they would be & give my cell number (was told 15 minutes). Soon as I hung up the phone, Comcast rep called my cell stating tech was behind and it would be closer to 3pm.

Raced across town to run errand, got home at 3:05, saw Comcast truck parked up the street, drove up to it - he was leaned over doing something & didn't look up. I figured he was either on a different service call (to house he was parked in front of), or taking a break.

I parked in my driveway, & started shoveling it. I looked at his truck a few times, wondering when he would drive over. After 5-10 minutes, I looked up to see him make a u-turn and drive away.

I called Comcast to ask him to turn around. It took about 10-15 minutes for rep to "chat" with someone to see if they could reach him but he was "all the way" across town. I went inside to find a message on my home answering machine saying sorry we missed you, please schedule another time.

My questions are:
1. If I'm outside shoveling my driveway, wouldn't they think I was home?
2. If the tech, by policy, must call first (even if they see me in my driveway) in order to get out of their truck, why didn't they call my cell number?
3. Why would they park three houses away to make the phone call to my house?

  • its called pixelation and its caused by either a bad line,bad splitter (radioshack,drop shop, etc), low signal,or foreign voltage like a bad electrical ground. or a combination or all that.mer, ber and snr are big factors but it is very very rarely the box.one more thing is crappy fittings like those screw on ones. hopefully that gives u a foot in the right direction.

  • and your screaming because...? Equipment can go out. It's man made which means it's not perfect. dont take your bad days out on Comcast employees.

  • I was told by Comcast Internet trouble shooting, that will stop when I pay my bill. So they have the ability to give you weak signal and intermittant signal. My front room tv could not handle the on off signal and burned up. The rotten bastards.

  • I was'nt screaming I was just upset because they gave me a 10 year old box and they told us that it was newly manufactured.

  • I had a problen with my box that was simmiller but it said not autherized so I called comcast and they said my box was defective so I had to replace my fucking box!

  • hey buddy... if your still having this problem let me know. I'm a comm tech and use to work for Comcast as an engineer. You got a pretty bad ingress problem there. Most likely needs the attention of a field tech there in person but maybe I can give you a temporary fix until you get help from Comcast.
