yes. change it. as far as wear, yes the chain is too loose, and i can see the wear on the gear teeth. anytime you change the chain, always change the gears too. would you change a clutch without changing the pressure plate and throw out barring? no you change it all at the same time.

just load the gasket with RTV and carefully reassemble everything.

you have the job halfway finished....don't be a dick !!!... change the chain and sprockets now!!!

if u have the new parts put all of hem on and id say a bit too mutch slak but now youve gone this far it is always better to change all of it and try to wriggle the cogs?.wen u can move it the bearings are gone chains have to have some movement too tyt aand the chain could brake to loose and it could run off even snap.

Yeah you need a gear and chain

Get a gear drive. It is adjustable somewhat, but not sloppy.

did you have to drop the oil pan

this is super old video and already fix and you need a new one because one side loose is bad enough.
I realise now that I had to take out the balancer bolt in order to get the washer off. My mistake.
