  • If you have a .380 Makarov, you don't have a Makarov. The whole comparison is a waste of time. The CZ is the better instrument, the Mak is the better weapon. The CZ is a complex mechanism that requires a lot of maintenance and when a small spring or pin wear out it quits on you. It is not a combat/field weapon, it was designed as a police and military carry gun but is in fact a sports gun like the CZ-75. Makarov simply works regardless of conditions and maintenance, it is a war pistol.

  • @ijelev68 so... you do know that the only difference between the .380 makarov and the 9x18 makarov is the barrel, right? every other part is 100% exactly the same. your argument based on that tiny difference is pretty flimsy.

  • @PiotrekNYC Wow, so you're saying 2 different guns are DIFFERENT and NOT the same gun? Let me write this down...

  • im going to show you my mak in a video what all do you know about it and if you know alot where can i buy good spare grips?

  • @firydeth Look at markings and you won't see "Makarov". IJ-70 is not "Makarov". It's not just the barrel and the 12 r. double stack mag (less reliable) that are different. The overall quality of parts and the finish is inferior to the old military production in .9x18 and 8 round mags with slim grip. It's not your fault that they sold you a cheaply produced shadow of the real thing. If you can't find a real Mak, a Bulgarian or East German copy will do, but get rid of this IJ joke.

  • @vnlk65n Then buy a series 80...or put in a titanium pin. I never said you said Glock was best. Glocks factually have a lot of accidental discharges, you made them seem safer than a 1911 because of the firing pin safety, I brought up that all decent 1911s have one. If your finger hits a Glock trigger: bang. If it hits a 1911 trigger on safe, no bang. I'd rather spend my 500 on a Taurus PT1911 than a Glock...I own one, no smithing, no problems with any hollow point ammo. That's me.

  • @K9ProSportUSAdotcom Only 'Series 80' 1911s have firing pin safeties. Many new mfg 1911s do not come with firing pin safeties.

The problem with 1911s is that unless you buy a high dollar 1911 or do some gunsmithing, a loose fit and a two piece feed ramp will make the gun inherenty less reliable with hollowpoints than say.. a Glock. They require a lot of work or a lot of money = poor general service handgun.

    Anyways

Did I say Glocks were the best handgun? No I did not.

  • @vnlk65n You do know that 1911's have a firing pin safety as well right? And Larry Vickers isn't the supreme being. Delta is actually the spec ops group who uses the 1911 the most. Glock is not the best handgun, the Glock is simply the best $500 gun. For the price it's a steal, but Sig makes better handguns for a hundred or 2 more, and nothing beats a custom 1911, though the price may be 3 or 4 times the Glock. Glock is the best budget piece, not the best handgun.

  • @K9ProSportUSAdotcom Glocks have a firing pin safety and CANNOT fire without the trigger being pulled. It isn't an accidental discharge due to some fault of the gun, it's a negligent discharge due to an incompetent user.

For what it's worth, when Larry Vickers, former SFOD-Delta assaulter and firearms instructor, and world renowned 1911 smith admits to prefering a Glock, you have to take a step back and reassess what you hold to be true.

  • @firydeth Just as easy to shoot yourself with a gun not cocked and locked...especially a CZ82 with that light buttery smooth trigger! But, if the safety came off it's either a defect with the gun, or a failure of some type on his part. A lot of people claim the safety was on when the truth may have been...they totally forgot to put it back on. I will send any gun to the gunsmith if the safety isn't tight and secure. I like audible "CLICK"s that stay put!

  • @leftthenormalworld I agree somewhat. But I also think the double action mode was to appease those who wanted that style of carry. But in the end? If you don't like the safety, put the hammer down and keep the safety off! Won't even notice it's there!
