First arriving engine at this Van fire couldn't shut off it's siren. Camerawork was eventually affected by the noise as I tried to cover my ears. Nice fire video though.

  • Whats really funny is all you guys bitching about how many units are on scene..... Anyone care to notice the really big structure that tiny little van was kindling . Seems like a pretty reasonable precaution to me.

  • @munkman83 .....it's nice to hear from a real firefighter once in a while.

  • they got the fire out but that looked like bad scene size up by command

  • @FirefighersKid01...You can't judge command by a Youtube video from one perspective. This was taken from the back side. Look at the end of the video at the units that worked making sure there was no fire in the building. There are also edits in the video. This is about the siren.

  • If you're a firefighter, you had better spend some time studying...you missed some things you need to learn about exposures.

  • after over five minutes of that I am thinking that an axe/halligan would have corrected that situation.

  • That Q must be HOT!!!

  • @bmxfrstylr maybe the call didnt come out as a vehicle fire maybe it came out as a high risk commercial business fire thats seems to be more reasonable to me

  • could you at least turn off the sound?

  • @munkman83 I think a commercial response is definately needed. I think there is good and bad here. Some training on flammable liquids, stretching an appropriate number of lines and utilizing foam. 1st Due Engines in a commercial building should have an automatic foam mixer. The fire fighter who walks behind the van just seconds after the start of the attack is dumb & lucky his nozzleman didnt push the fire right back on him. Hope he buys the nozzleman a drink. Kudos for them all wearing SCBA's.

  • Dont you have an extrication bag on your truck or wire snips lol... holy crap I would have probebly taken an axe to it about 30 seconds in...Wouldnt that be a waste of a Q... Not to mention the 1500 dollar bill the city would send me for it haha...How could command think with that SOB Blaring in his ear... Great response and attack text book as far as I can see.. Be safe brothers...

  • Cut the Fucking WIres

  • We would of done the same thing .....rather have the man power there then have one truck and not enouph man power...

  • @Cowboy3590 Do you not see the giant building that's wrapped around that vehicle fire? We call that "threatening a structure", and how do you know that it wasn't a structure fire that lit the van?

  • um you cant say there is two many units. this prob got dispatched as structure fire. i would have called all available units also. u can always turn back trucks. better safe than sorry. what if they only had one truck. and it was a structure then u would have to wait for those resources. are rule is call them in u can always send em back

  • I had my volume at max and had headphones on at the beginning of the video
