GoodFire kerosene stoves work flawlessly with B100 Biodiesel, although the supplied pink hose MUST be replaced as it is not compatible with biodiesel. Braided pressure rated vinyl hose is a good replacement.

  • would this work with svo "straight veggtable oil"

  • It *might*, but the oil would have to be heated pretty hot, say like that of a car on SVO, and then perhaps with the pressure type stove if you could get it atomised sufficiently then who knows ?

  • Very neat little stove there - does it ussually burn with a blue flame with kero? if yes then the burner itsnt preheating hot enough for the biodeisel - needs some sort of riser tube with metal guaze rolled in it to provide a vapor expansion area - burning yellow like that means its burning dirty and incompletely and you can see it spitting at the burner base in the video...that is unsafe add a preheating riser or a longer overall preheat with alcohol and go again your on the right track

  • Biodiesel is a bit more viscous than K1. Their pressure type stove (like a Coleman)would be better than the gravity fed type I now have.

  • Problem with that stove is it leakes on from the valve stem after one or two years. reason being is they use an asbestos coil wrapped around the valve. Just like a faucet seal. But theat asbestos doesnt last. Then you have a problem later on. That stove is very popular in the Philippines.

  • Hi there :)

Could you please tell me where I might be able to get one of these GoodFire stoves?

I couldn't seem to find them on the internet......thanx!

  • i got one from like 1950 and they used a glass with a valve and when u turn it upside down it ran ito the pans and feed the fire

  • i guess i am not thinking of straight veggie oil my dad makes a mix of about one gallon of diesel and anti gel to 30 gallons of oil to run in his pick up thats what i call svo i know its not but it is pretty thin after filtering and additives

  • goodfires website says - A bluish flame with yellow tips is the best, most economical flame. A very yellow flame means there is too much fuel, and a very blue flame (with no yellow tips) means too much air is being used.
