A Canadian pig farmer explains why people must take a shower before they enter and leave his hog barn.

Transcript: (Farrowing hog farm)

John -- Our main goal in this operation is to try and keep diseases out. We do that by making all people and things coming into the barn as clean as possible. So anybody that works here or helps me, or any of the family members that helps. We all take a shower and change in the barn before we begin. We wear only clothes that are inside the barn and any tools or feed that we bring in are also cleaned, so there's no chance that we're going to bring in a disease or a germ or something that will make our pigs sick. The word we use to describe it is biosecurity and that's a big word to say, keep it clean.
