About the event:

Dr. OConnor discussed the revival of Chinese society amid Chinas remarkable economic growth over the last twenty years. He reflected on what is in store for the next twenty years, including the environmental consequences of this economic growth, sketching also Chinas role in the global response to climate change.

About the speaker:

Dr. OConnor is Founder and CEO of Mainstream Renewable Power and former CEO of Airtricity. He founded Airtricity Holdings Ltd in 1997 and remained in the position of Chief Executive until 2008. In 2008, he set up Mainstream Renewable Power.

Dr. OConnor was named World Energy Policy Leader (2003) by Scientific American Magazine and received the Leadership Award at the annual Ernst & Young Global Renewable Energy Awards 2009.

Thank you Dr. E O'Connor, For years I have reading and listening only negative critics of China, eventhough that :

1-In less than 30 years China lift up more than 200 millions of their people from poverty, after being the poorer country of the world during the last 2 centuries due to foreign invasion, bad and corrupted gobernment, and natural disasters

2- Thank to China economic devopment many countries in LatinoAmerica, and Africa, could now overcome their own economic problems

3- Even in America and average family was saving more than $500 a year by buying reasonable good products from China and think about those people working 6 days a week 10 hours a day making around 0.50/0.80 cts an hour could allow the Chinese government lend almost a trillions of dollar to the American gobernment and can America keep their interest rate low.

As confusius said, "A favor should always be returned". I must say that I admire what the west has done in developing their countries and projecting their power all over the world in the past 200 years! Even over taking many anicent countries like China, India & more! The west sense of innovation and detail is un-matched anywhere in the world today even in China.
