    Indeed. How dare that faceless bookstore chain threaten her independent bookshop. But Meg has no problem with frequenting her local coffeeshop chain store, which has no doubt put numerous independent coffee shops out of business. Because that is a completely different situation.

    Starbucks coffee tastes like it's been burnt and left on the shelves too long. This is not beer fermentation this is coffee. Starbucks doesn't know how to make it fresh like a great Indy Shop.

    Starbucks didn't put any independent coffee shop out of business as coffee shops like Starbucks didn't exist.

    Starbucks sold a product that people didn't even know they wanted.

    Cafes sold coffee and maybe Cappuccino but that's all.

    Starbucks changed the coffee drinking experience and gave people something they couldn't get anywhere else.
